RRB NTPC photo and signature size

NTPC takes the photograph live. The signature is JPG, 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels, at least 100 DPI, centred in a 35 mm × 20 mm box.

Your image never leaves this phone. The resize happens on this device. ExamPicResizer does not receive the file.

Part of this preset is not a number printed in the notice. The table says which part. If the form disagrees, follow the form.

Prepare the file

413 × 236 is the 35 mm × 20 mm box at an assumed 300 DPI. The notice’s exact requirement is a minimum of 140 × 60 and a minimum of 100 DPI, not this pixel pair. A file at the 140 × 60 floor cannot reliably reach 30 KB.

What the notice says

The CEN 07/2025 NTPC undergraduate FAQ on rrbcdg.gov.in says every candidate uploads a scanned signature and that the photograph is captured live. SC and ST candidates who want a free travel pass also upload a caste certificate PDF under 400 KB. That PDF is not resized here.

The signature rules quoted from para 14.5.1 are: JPG or JPEG, 30 KB to 49 KB, minimum 140 × 60 pixels, minimum 100 DPI, black ink on white paper, running hand, centred in a 35 mm by 20 mm box. The tool’s 413 × 236 file is a working size for that box, not a number the FAQ prints.

Signature

413 × 236 is the 35 mm × 20 mm box at an assumed 300 DPI. The notice’s exact requirement is a minimum of 140 × 60 and a minimum of 100 DPI, not this pixel pair. A file at the 140 × 60 floor cannot reliably reach 30 KB.

  • Sign in running handwriting with black ink on white paper. Not in block or capital letters.
  • JPG or JPEG, between 30 KB and 49 KB.
  • At least 140 × 60 pixels, scanned at a minimum of 100 DPI.
  • Centre the signature in a 35 mm × 20 mm box.
  • Exact pixel size. Only the 140 × 60 minimum is printed.
  • 300 DPI. Only a 100 DPI minimum is printed. 300 DPI is used so the scan box stays above both minimums and the file can reach 30 KB.

Why these files get rejected

  • A photograph of a photograph, or a live photo with a cap, mask, or spectacles.
  • White clothing that disappears into the background.
  • Signature in block capitals, blue ink, or on a non-white background.
  • Signature file under 30 KB or over 49 KB.
  • Uploading a thumb impression where a signature is required.

Questions candidates actually ask

Does RRB NTPC still take a photo upload?

No. CEN 07/2025 captures the photograph live. The image file you prepare is the signature.

What is the NTPC signature size in KB?

30 KB to 49 KB, JPG or JPEG, at least 140 pixels wide and 60 pixels high, scanned at at least 100 DPI.

Why is the download larger than 140×60?

140×60 is a floor. A JPEG that small, mostly white paper, does not reach 30 KB. The tool uses the 35 mm × 20 mm box at 300 DPI, which is above the 100 DPI minimum. The exact pixels are marked unverified.

Can I sign in capital letters?

No. The FAQ and the CEN text it points to want running handwriting, not block, capital, or disjointed letters.
