Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission · Notification No. 11/2026
TNPSC Group 4 photo and signature size
TNPSC prints the pixels: photograph 130×170 at 20–50 KB, saved as Photograph.jpg, and signature 230×75 at 10–20 KB, saved as Signature.jpg.
Your image never leaves this phone. The resize happens on this device. ExamPicResizer does not receive the file.
Prepare the file
The notice prints both 130 × 170 pixels and 200 DPI for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photograph. Those two claims do not match (200 DPI would be about 276 × 354). The file is resized to the printed pixels.
Target 130×170 px, 20–50 KB
What the notice says
Notification No. 11/2026 for Group IV Services tells you to upload a studio photograph taken on or after the notification date. The printed size is 3.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm high, which the same paragraph also writes as 130 × 170 pixels, 20 KB to 50 KB, file name Photograph.jpg. The bottom 1.5 cm (55 pixels) is for your name and the date of the photograph. The face occupies the upper 3.0 cm (115 pixels).
The signature box is 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm, also written as 230 × 75 pixels, 10 KB to 20 KB, file name Signature.jpg, blue or black ink. The notice also says 200 DPI. That DPI does not arithmetically match 130 × 170 for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm print. This tool follows the pixel numbers that are printed, because a dimension check would use those.
| File | Format | Size | Kilobytes | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | JPEG | 130 × 170 (printed) | 20–50 KB | Verified |
| Signature | JPEG | 230 × 75 (printed) | 10–20 KB | Verified |
Status colours: green means the figure was read from the notice, red means part of the row is not printed there.
Photograph
The notice prints both 130 × 170 pixels and 200 DPI for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photograph. Those two claims do not match (200 DPI would be about 276 × 354). The file is resized to the printed pixels.
- Colour passport photograph from a studio, white background, taken on or after the notification date.
- 130 × 170 pixels and 20 KB to 50 KB. Save as Photograph.jpg.
- Of the 170 pixels of height, the notice assigns 115 pixels to the face and 55 pixels to the name and date printed at the bottom.
- No selfies, phone photos, photocopies, or photos taken at events.
- Both ears and part of the neck, frontal view.

230 × 75 is printed. At 200 DPI a 6.0 × 2.0 cm box would be about 472 × 157. The tool uses the printed pixel size.
- Draw a box of 6.0 × 2.0 cm, which the notice also writes as 230 × 75 pixels, and sign inside it.
- Blue or black ink. Scan and crop to the box. 10 KB to 20 KB. Save as Signature.jpg.
Why these files get rejected
- A selfie, a phone photo, or a photograph taken at a function or outdoors.
- Missing name and date along the bottom of the photograph, or a photo taken before the notification date.
- Photograph outside 20–50 KB or not 130 × 170, if the portal checks the printed size.
- Signature outside the 6 cm box, outside 10–20 KB, or saved under a different file name.
- Uploading the whole sheet instead of the cropped photograph or the cropped signature box.
Questions candidates actually ask
What is the TNPSC Group 4 photo size?
130 × 170 pixels, 20 KB to 50 KB, file name Photograph.jpg. The notice also describes it as 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm, with the name and date in the bottom 55 pixels.
What is the TNPSC signature size?
230 × 75 pixels, 10 KB to 20 KB, file name Signature.jpg, signed inside a 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm box in blue or black ink.
The notice says 200 DPI and 130×170. Which should I follow?
Both are printed, and they disagree. 3.5 cm at 200 DPI is about 276 pixels, not 130. This tool outputs the pixel figures the notification writes out, 130 × 170 and 230 × 75.
Can this site print my name on the photo?
No. The studio has to print your name and the date of photography in the bottom strip. Crop so that strip stays inside the 170-pixel height.
